Can We Talk… was created in 2014 at the Roxbury Presbyterian Church in Boston Massachusetts as the main outreach of the Cory Johnson Program for Post Traumatic Healing, named after a young, murdered church member. Cory’s family represents countless others in our community who are emotionally and psychologically harmed by violence, substance abuse, neglect, systemic and historical racism along with many other traumatic experiences.
Can We Talk… is a spiritually inspired, community-based, clinically supported safe space for sharing our pain.
Can We Talk… is an anonymous drop-in program where you are invited to safely share your stories of pain, grief, loss and healing from trauma and whatever you are going through
We abide with, or accompany those who have suffered trauma and loss by bridging multiple systems of care and offering:
a safe sacred space for the sharing of painful stories
increased awareness and understanding of trauma
relief from traumatic stress
mental health support for those who otherwise might not have access
We hold Can We Talk… on the 2nd Thursday of each month, 6:00PM - 7:30PM at Purpose Point Community Health at no cost. We always serve dinner and we always have childcare.
